Week 8: Pressing the Clothing
Aerion E -
Hello everyone! This past week hasn’t been the greatest for me – considering that I haven’t been feeling the best. Therefore, I didn’t get as much done as I had hoped. But that doesn’t mean that I didn’t get anything done at all!
My senior project draft is almost finished, which means I’ll be able to start transferring everything into a more polished and completed slideshow. I’m looking forward to that part the most, giving my research the proper visual style that I have been working towards this whole time.
Lately, I’ve been doing a deep dive into the history of fashion advertising specifically in 2020, and how certain events impacted it. One of the most obvious and significant influences was COVID – 19 (obviously). It didn’t just change how we communicated in our day-to-today lives but also transformed and changed how brands went about the process of creating fashion advertisements. And as I’ve stated before, fashion advertisements are a form of communication – therefore, this makes the effect of the global pandemic hit harder than usual. Although, researching how the shift brought on by the pandemic has been more than interesting to explore. However, there’s also another significant event from 2020 that I am also covering in my project, but I’m deciding not to tell you all on here, to prevent any spoilers. What I will say, however – is that the research has been very meaningful, and enlightening.
Moreover, as for my internship, I’ve still been working on visuals as a part of my position as a marketing intern. Even though the tasks are familiar by now, I genuinely don’t get tired of them. I love graphic design, and getting to create visual images to convey something, regularly has been enjoyable for me even though it seems repetitive.
Lastly, for an update of my final product – it is still in development. It’s far from complete, but I am excited to really dive into it once my draft. Once I have a solid structure for my presentation, I’ll be able to truly focus on the final part of my project as a whole.
Thanks for reading this week’s “issue” – more to come soon!
