Week 2: Social Media, Outreach, and One-Pagers
Elena M -
Welcome back, everyone! This week has been all about balancing my independent research with my internship responsibilities. Each task has helped me build the foundation for my senior project.
Before the start of this work week, I dedicated time to my independent research. I worked on drafting interview questions, making sure they were structured in a way that encourages meaningful conversations while staying focused on key themes. I also began crafting outreach emails for potential interviewees, aiming to be both professional and engaging. Connecting with the right people will be essential to understanding how financial empowerment shifts across generations.
I focused on social media marketing at my internship to start the week. I worked on promoting web articles and ensuring they reached the right audiences. While this isn’t directly tied to my research, it gave me insight into how organizations present their work—something that will be valuable when I start sharing my own findings. It also gave me a chance to read some of the amazing articles on the PBR website.
Thursday will be another important day at my internship as I work on one-pagers for our funders. Summarizing complex topics clearly and concisely is a skill I want to develop, especially since I’ll need to do the same when presenting my research.
With each step, I’m gaining a deeper understanding of both my research and the professional world. As I continue balancing my responsibilities, I look forward to seeing how these different pieces come together to shape my final project.
See you next week!
