Week 11: Where We Are
Adhip J -
We’re looking back; we went around. We started at Crave and visited Scented, Black Rock, Whole Foods, and every other productive workplace in Tucson. But that was then, and this is now. Today, I write my final week-based blog post from my work desk.
After my last official week on the project, I am incredibly proud of the work we have achieved over this short period. This week, I focused on my final product: a brochure/infographic that summarizes the lab’s community and scientific focuses into a compressed and understandable format for the general public. I have also been working on my final presentation, and I have my first rehearsals with my faculty advisor and mentor on Monday.
Beyond this week, I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my work with the Lifespan Language Lab! Especially as our ACEing Autism initiative is a longer process, I must stay connected with the lab and their initiatives so that I may continue learning from my mentor while contributing to their lab goals. Speaking of this initiative, I reached out to some locations this week but have not received a response, so the next few weeks will involve a lot of tenacious communication so that we can ensure the sustainability of our program!!
Looking back over the 10-11 weeks I spent on my project, I am happy to see that very few things went to plan, and it was the best thing that could have happened to me! Each week, I learned about a new topic, and, in the end, I was able to gain a breadth of knowledge that connects my love for science and community outreach.
We still have one final post coming next week, but for now, thank you, and see you next week!
