Blog 007: The Beginning of the End

Good Afternoon! It’s Herron and I’m currently at Brucha sipping a Banana Cream Matcha Latte! This drink is definitely near the top of drinks I’ve tried since the beginning of this journey.

This week has felt like a transitional period in my internship. I was feeling sick for the first half of the week, so I only ended up at my site for two days. During those two days, I spent all of my time in the lab preparing for the end of my internship and my final project. Reflecting on these days, I thought about how the past weeks had a defining theme: Week 1 was Discovery, Week 3 was Beauty, Week 4 was Balance, etc.  I believe this week’s word is Presage. I talked with my mentor about my final project and she loved the idea of a video series that compiles all the skills I’ve learned through my journey at ASTEC. From now on until the deadline, I will be planning a series of 5-6 skills I will showcase on my social media page to display the amount of reach medical education can have onto the world.

Now that we’ve reached the beginning of the end, I want to make the most of the limited time with the ASTEC team. I hope to learn a couple more pieces of advice from health professionals and create more lasting memories for me to remember forever. Prepare to hear the amazing tales I will tell in the coming weeks! This is Herron and I hope you have a great rest of your week!

    Hey Herron! I am sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well the first half of the week, and I hope that you're feeling better! I really like your idea of making a video series for all your skills, and I can't wait to see it when it's done! Do you have any advice for anyone who wants to enter a program similar to the one that you participated in during your internship? Good luck with everything!

    Hey Connor! I can't wait to showcase the series to you when I finish them! For advice, I would just say that you need to try to expand on the topics that you're passionate about the whole way through. I don't think if I were open to the idea of medical technology, I would be sitting here today as an intern for ASTEC. Hope this helps!
