Week 9- Paper/Presentation
Collin H -
Hello everyone! This project is seemingly starting to get wrapped up. It’s almost like, where did the last couple of months go? I have written the first draft for all of my parts and have submitted them to the other group so I will make revisions next week based on what they tell me.
I have also started working on the presentation. I was first worried about the 15-minute time requirement, but as I began to build out the presentation 15 minutes doesn’t seem bad at all. I am excited to get my slides finalized so I can start practicing and ironing out the kinks. I have added figures from my previous presentations, so the hardest part will be making those more technical figures make sense to an audience that isn’t experienced in medical data analysis. I think it is a great opportunity to reinforce what I have learned, as if I can’t explain in ways that I haven’t learned it, then I don’t have a great grasp of it. This thought just came to me as it is one of the principles of “Smart Thinking” in a book by Art Markman, as he outlines that the ability to teach material is an indicator of truly understanding said material.
