Week 7

Collin H -

Sorry for being a little late. I wanted to finish everything I talked about in the last blog update. I got through the different expression terms, sorting by gene and lowest common denominator for expressed pathway. That step was the longest part of this segment of the project. I then submitted those results to the team who chose which pathways we wanted to discuss in our poster presentation.

The next step was making tons of different rough drafts in order to make all the genes that were selected look neat without Venn diagrams. This was also a very long process, but it was more enjoyable as it felt like a logic puzzle in a way, and so it was very rewarding when I finalized a diagram that was accurate and met the team’s needs.

From left to right the photos are the final product, a zoomed in view of my analysis, and a voomed out view of most of the initial step

Hey Colin, this is really interesting and it’s great to see your project progressing! Would you say that these graphs have helped you see what could be adjusted for better diagnoses?
