SRP Post #12: Logging Off
Yeawon K -
Hi everyone!
Before I get into this post, I just want to thank you for following my senior research project! There have definitely been some ups and downs, and with that being said, I’d like to end this series of posts with my personal takeaways.
I know we last ended up discussing data collection, so let me briefly explain what happened there before jumping into it. Essentially, the results are looking like video games might not be the most efficient method, from a large report of unfavorable perceived parental perceptions to a lack of positive perceived long-term takeaways. While my analysis remains correlational and these results may not be what I envisioned, I still believe any result, nonetheless, provides new information worth considering in the grand scheme of things. I believe future studies should continue to explore chronic stress among adolescents, but this time, perhaps focus on different methods of management, such as guided meditation, which might have fewer drawbacks. But if they do choose to continue to look into video games, a test of significance should definitely be conducted.
I feel like I’ve learned a lot these past few months working on my project. It’s honestly been fun creating something from quite literally the ground up, and I feel like I’ve developed a range of skills, from a research-oriented critical lens to the ability to adapt to unexpected change, that I know will prove useful in the coming years as I enter the next stage of my educational career (college!).
Again, thank you for following along, and if you would like a more detailed breakdown of my results, please attend the Senior Research Project presentations on May 3rd!
Logging off,
Yeawon!
