Design Decisions: Senior Project Week 5
Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog!
This week, my task has been to plan out examples of possible panel designs for the exhibit, which will showcase the information we’ve gathered. A part of this process is finding 2-3 high-resolution graphics for each of the artists we are featuring. In addition, I have compiled all the information for the panels and sent it to my advisor at Museum Pros. Each one is designed to have around six sentences about the musician’s work and what they did while in the town ofountain Hills. I compiled most of my information about their concerts in Fountain Hills from old newspaper articles.
I had a productive Zoom meeting this week with my site placement advisor. During the meeting, she presented the two main panel design ideas she brainstormed, and she asked me to make the final decision on which one we should proceed with. Both designs are interesting, but they offer slightly different approaches to how we present the information. One design is more traditional, with a focus on clarity and structured layouts with a more 70’s feel because this was when the majority of them played in Fountain Hills or when they were popular on the music charts. The other is more modern and artistic, incorporating dynamic elements and a more open, fluid design.
In addition to making the final decision, she has also asked me to poll people I know to get their opinions on which design they prefer. This feedback will be really helpful in making sure we choose the design that resonates the most with our audience. Both options have the same information. I have attached program mock-ups of the exhibit space and the panel designs themselves (the resolution on WordPress is not the best):

With this option, the squares that depict the album covers will be plexiglass displays that contain the actual album.

So, if you have any thoughts or feedback, feel free to share them with me! I’m excited to hear what you think.
Thank you, and see you next week!
