Week 6: Catching Up on my Literary Review

Elizabeth V -

Hi everyone! I don’t have any exciting updates this week but I’ve been working on finding studies I can use for the literary portion of my project and I finished setting up the student surveys to send out soon. I’m also going back to my advisor’s school tomorrow to help out so I’m looking forward to that.

I’ve spent a lot of time in the last week reading about research on my subject and I’ve enjoyed learning about different results. I’m trying to look at my questions from different perspectives and I think that’s very important in my project. For example, I’ve been looking at the different ways counselors measure student progress. Some studies use notes while others use more quantitative measurements like attendance and grades.

This week I plan on sending out the student surveys and working on finding more school counselors and school psychologists to interview. I’m going to find time this week to update my schedule so that I have a plan for the next few weeks of the project. It’s hard to believe senior projects are already halfway over but I’m excited for the rest of my research, getting ready for the final presentation, and coming up with my final product. I’m having fun brainstorming ideas for my final product but I haven’t made a final decision yet. Next week I’ll have more updates on the student surveys and interviews. Thanks for reading and I can’t wait to hear more about everyone else’s projects this week!
