The End of a Chapter

Allison Y -

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my final blog!

These past few months have been crazy yet exciting, and I just want to reflect on this journey. I came into this project with no expectations and left with an experience like no other.

In the beginning, I was scrambling to find a mentor and outline a plan for the next few months. Thankfully, I met my amazing Professor Mommaerts, and everything started to line up. There were definitely many challenges in the project, like creating my survey, sharing it with students in Arizona, and beating the time restraints. Still, I persisted and have now concluded my research on the impact of music on mental health among college students. I am so grateful to have learned many new skills and knowledge on how to conduct and analyze a research project. These are the things that will forever stick with me as I transition to college.

Also, I want to thank the people who supported me along the way. First, thank you to Professor Mommaerts, who was like my rock in this journey. She was there with me every step of the way, and her mentorship and insights have greatly enriched my work. Second, thank you to Mr.Stewart and Ms.Bennett for supporting me by always being available to chat and giving me feedback to make my project even better. I couldn’t have done this project without the unwavering support and understanding from them.

In the future, I hope to continue to raise awareness for mental health by conducting research like this in college. For now, I’m practicing for my presentation tomorrow afternoon and am excited to share my results with a new audience.

Again, thank you all for following along on my journey!
