Data analysis example

I wanted to share an example of how the graphs work before we get to the real graphs!

Here is an example of how Google Trends works with the search term COVID-19. The location for this search term will be narrowed to the United States of America. The time range will be from January 1st, 2020 to December 31st, 2020. The reason these filters were chosen is because Covid 19 only became a topic of discussion for Americans in March when COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (ABC News, 2021).

In this graph, the search interest spiked in March of 2020. Similarly, in this paper, it was desired to determine if there was a spike in interest for the search terms “drought” and “water conservation” during the summer period of 2023 when temperatures were extremely high.
