The flight plan

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another blog post! I wanted to talk about my final product for my project and what it will look like.

For my final product, I have decided to create a website that documents my aviation journey and gives other young aspiring pilots advice and a glimpse into the world of aviation. I’ve decided to split it up into a couple of different sections, each with its own purpose.

Section 1: This will be the “Intro to Aviation.” It will contain general knowledge about the cockpit, basic aviation theory, and the general pathway to becoming a pilot. This page will be a summary of the website. Because the path people take to becoming a pilot is always different, I decided to put my specific journey in a later section.

Section 2: This will be the part of my website where all the pictures I have taken will be placed. I wanted to implement a feature here that I thought would be interactive and give more “life” to the website. Because I have so many pictures of the aircraft I have flown, I will be creating a “virtual walk-around” of the aircraft here. It will show every part of the plane — from the wings to the tail — and will have a detailed description of each part as well.

Section 3: This is where I will place all the advice that I have been given from my countless interviews with pilots. I have interviewed pilots from many different backgrounds — some from commercial aviation and some who are still student pilots, like myself. This section is one of my favorites, mainly because I really enjoyed speaking with pilots and gaining invaluable insights into aviation.

Section 4: The final section will describe my pathway in aviation and what I’ve experienced. Because of my age, I had to take a different path with a couple of detours to achieve my goals, and that’s a point that is crucial to my project and to my website.

This was just a short outline of my website, and the final product will be much more in-depth. I plan to publish this website on May 13th, so keep an eye out for it!
