Following the pathway to the skies

Hello all, and welcome back to another blog post this week!
In this post, I will discuss some of the links and sources I have been using to develop my final product.
I am creating a website dedicated to documenting my flight journey and the challenges I will encounter due to my young age. It will also encourage other young people to begin their aviation journey. As I build this site, I will include sources that have been particularly useful during my aviation training.
- FAA Aircraft Information – This website has been invaluable to my flight training. It contains essential information about different types of aircraft terminology, the aircraft registration process, and ensuring airworthiness. It also covers legal aspects of aircraft ownership and operation.
- https://nasstatus.faa.gov/ – This is one of the most interesting resources, in my opinion. It provides real-time updates on airports across the U.S, including current delays and closures. For example, currently, Las Vegas has an airport closure due to increasing wind conditions. This site is not only useful for me as a flight student but also helpful for passengers who want to check airport conditions before traveling.
- FAA Air Traffic Services – This link provides insight into the behind-the-scenes operations of airports. It highlights the critical role of air traffic control (ATC) in ensuring safe and efficient flights. ATC is often overlooked, but this website gives a detailed look at how extensive and vital the process is.
- Leopard Aviation – This is the link to my flight school. I’ve already completed my first lesson with them and plan to do many more. They offer flexible lesson options, allowing students to book as many or as few as they want. Whether you’re interested in pursuing a commercial aviation career or just want to take a few lessons for fun, this school provides great opportunities.
- YouTube Channels Mentour Pilot and 74 Gear – These channels do a fantastic job of explaining aviation incidents in simple terms. They break down complex aviation topics in a way that anyone can understand. I highly recommend checking out some of these videos—not only are they educational for aviation students, but they’re also entertaining to watch in your free time.
- Airbus & Boeing – These are the official websites of the two major aircraft manufacturers in the U.S. and Europe. They provide fascinating insights into their missions and goals for the future of aviation. Their galleries showcase extensive images of their fleets, including exteriors, interiors, and cockpit views. The Airbus website, in particular, has great pictures of their aircraft cockpits. Whether you’re an aviation student or just someone curious about the industry, these sites are worth exploring.
These are some of the key resources I wanted to share. I use these links not only for my aviation career as a pilot but also in my daily life as a passenger.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you find these resources as useful as I have!
