Updates and Fun Facts
Hello! This week is more editing! I have been staring at a computer for so long but it’s fun to learn a new program. I’ve used various Adobe products before but never Adobe Premiere so it’s been interesting figuring out how it works. I have most of the clips compiled and have been cutting them and putting them over audio as pictured below. (I once again considered throwing my computer at a wall but my best friend threatened it with a ✨tiny hammer✨ and it continued working)

That’s probably going to be the next few weeks, tedious but fun, as I continue cutting the clips and cleaning it up. I have also been preparing for interviews, making sure I have a consistent space and trying to get the word out and schedule meetings. I’m hoping to have most interviews done by the beginning of April but we shall see.
I don’t have any other updates so here’s a fun fact. I showed Sam the film The Thing and she loved it. We both then watched videos on the practical effects in which they used all sorts of tricks to get it to work. One interesting effect was where someone’s stomach opened and for that they used jelly, bubble gum, and melted plastic in order to create an organism that looked real. It took a lot of work and they also only got one chance to do the shot correctly because they then set it on fire. Isn’t that cool?!
They also used reverse photography, shooting a scene where they retracted tentacles from a creature so that when reversed it looks like they were lashing out. The Thing is a great movie with interesting and impressive practical effects that a lot of people believe still hold up today.
Thank you so much for reading my post!
