Joking Sabotage: My Paper and Presentations

Josephine d -

Hey y’all and welcome back to my blog. The last couple weeks I have really not had any exciting updates but this week I have made a quite a lot of progress.

My first update is that drawing cards is taking way longer than I thought it would. There were a lot more details than I was expecting there to be. In order to deal with this I have decided to do more doodles for the cards than I had originally intended. However by doing this I am chugging right along.

So far I have created four animals “specific” to each biome (although for the most part these animals can be played anywhere with stipulations) as well as ten common animals like cows. For plants I have two to three plants per biome and ten general plants. This becomes 68 different species cards. While this seems like a lot of cards, multiple of these cards have the same function or same basic function with slightly different stats boosts. For example mahogany and pine tree have similar effect on air quality.

For event cards I have decided on fifteen different events. However unlike the animal cards, there are multiple of each event card that can be used during the game. These events are both naturally occurring events as well as man made events. The events I have so far are: Volcanic Eruption (two cards), Flooding (three cards), Earthquake (two cards), Forrest Fire (three cards), Drought (two cards), tornado (two cards), cold wave (two cards), heat wave (two cards), Acid rain (two cards), deforestation (three cards), chemical spill (two cards), human development (three cards), and agriculture (three cards). I also thought having a couple really big cards would be fun like Asteroid hit (one card) and Super volcano (one card.)

Another important thing I’ve been working on is my final paper. Currently I am about a third of the way through with my paper so I’m moving right along.

Thank you for reading!
