Week 0: A penny for your thoughts, a dose for your dreams
What’s up guys,
My name is Magdalena but I go by Maggie for short. My senior project is about the components that go into determining which type of anesthesia is used for certain procedures and if there are certain complications that restrain a person from receiving a certain type of anesthesia. If you do not know what anesthesia is, it is the use of medicine or drugs to prevent pain from happening during medical procedures. Anesthesiology interested me ever since I was a kid, and I wanted to learn more about it and due to me having a family member who is an anesthesiologist it was easier for me to get interested in the subject. I am most looking forward to interviewing or chatting with an actual anesthesiologist who has done multiple procedures and finding out more about the complicated thought process anesthesiologist walk through before surgical procedures. Since I am working with someone who lives in another state, my research will mainly be independent while I ask her a few questions to compare what I find online. Using platforms such as Google Scholar and Jstor I will do my own research and answer my own questions. It may not be as interactive as doing an experiment, but I am still enthusiastic to be doing a project especially in a field that I want to work in one day. I have an idea for my final project in mind that I am eager to start working on as well. I hope you will join me on my journey of research!
