Week 9: Pulling the Strings Together

Elena M -

Hi everyone! Welcome back!

This week looked a little different, as I wasn’t in the office as much, but it was still a productive and meaningful stretch of time. I conducted another interview, which added a new and unexpected perspective to my ongoing research. Each conversation has helped me piece together a fuller picture of the themes I’ve been exploring, and this latest one was no exception. It reminded me how important it is to remain open to stories that don’t fit neatly into preconceived ideas—sometimes the most powerful insights come from the unexpected.

Outside of the interview, I spent most of the week revising the article I’ve been working on. This process has involved rereading, reworking the structure, tightening language, and making sure that everything connects back to the central question I set out to answer. It’s been challenging but rewarding to shape something that not only reflects the data and interviews but also feels true to the narrative I’ve uncovered along the way.

I also began outlining my final presentation. While it’s still in the early stages, I’ve started thinking about how to communicate the arc of my work in a way that’s clear, compelling, and authentic to the process. As I near the end of this project, I’m beginning to see how all the small pieces—interviews, edits, conversations, observations—are starting to come together. This week was about pulling threads together, slowly but surely.

See you next week!
