Week 9: Digital Designs

Elsa B -

Hi everyone!

Over the past week, I’ve been making a bunch of progress on my website. Though it was at first difficult to navigate Wix’s convoluted landscape–adding buttons, deleting pages, and figuring out how to link to websites in a way that didn’t hurt my eyes–it is now much easier to visualize what my guidebook’s website is going to look like. Seeing it as a semi-final, decently designed product is making me see this guidebook as less of an abstract concept that “could help” youth in DC, but instead something that will (hopefully) have tangible impact! And after this, I’ll just have to format my guidebook so it, too, looks aesthetically pleasing, upload it to the website, and finalize the URL! I’m super excited to share the website and guidebook with everyone once they’re finalized.

In addition to the website, I’ve been working on my final slides. So far, I’ve drafted an outline, found a template, and written some basic information. So I’ve finalized the structure of it, but still need to add details and visuals. I’ve also been communicating with my mentor on potential information I can add, since the nonprofit she works at has resources to train people on civic engagement around climate.

It’s crazy how quickly Senior Project is coming to a close, but I’m slowly-but-surely preparing myself for final presentations. I’m looking forward to hearing what everyone else has to share!
