Week 5: Read, Write, Rec, Repeat
Greetings,
We are halfway through the week, and here’s where I’m at: research and more researching—or rather, reading and more reading on top of that previous reading.
This week, I’ve been focusing on making progress on those previous books I mentioned. The goal is to really expand the timeline that I started last week. This means adding more major events, as well as drafting and editing descriptions of them to provide better historical context and flow. So, it’s a week that’s very heavy on online work and deep dives into source material. Lots of tabs open, lots of note-jotting, and definitely lots of snacks involved.
However, to make up for the week’s sedentary activities—online and on paper—this weekend is the first DC Shadow game that I will be attending (their second home game of the season), and I’ll be helping out! I’m super excited, as this will be the first in-person Ultimate Frisbee game I’ll be seeing. The competitors are coming all the way from Atlanta, which adds to the hype and the energy around the match. I’ll even be getting a “jersey” of sorts for game day attire, so I’ll be fully repping the team spirit while I volunteer and watch the action unfold. It’s shaping up to be a high-energy and memorable Saturday!
So my closing note is: I’m pumped for the weekend ahead.
Let’s close this up so we can all get back to our Wednesdays and finish out the week strong!!
I’ll be back next week to tell you all about the game. Farewell.
