Week 4: It’s time to learn stuff.
Ryan T -
Hello!
I’m currently working on feedback on my survey to make the video.
I’ve met with my internship advisor, and I have few a minimal number of action items to assist them for now. I have accomplished them, so I don’t have any pending tasks for my internship.
Over the past few weeks I have messaged dozens of engineering students at the college I will be enrolling in along with talking to people in other fields over the past few months. I have narrowed down my list of desired certifications. I will currently start with a Solidworks certification; I will be aiming for the SOLIDWORKS CAD Design Associate (CSWA) certificate, which is a $100 test. There are sample questions and an outline of what is expected for me to know on the official website. I will be studying for this test using the Udemy course “SOLIDWORKS Mastery:500 Examples| 500 Q&A|20 Project| 10 Test”. I am excited for this course as it features over 500 quiz questions, 500 examples, 20 projects, and 60+ hours of videos explaining various things.
Solidworks is like FreeCAD; it is a 3D modeling software (CAD, computer-aided design) that is an industry standard. By getting this certificate, I will be ahead of other applicants to mechanical engineering internships.
