Week 3: First day at Hillwood Estate
Hello everyone. I will start with less exciting news. However, it is definitely equal in importance. The format for the review has now not only been approved by my senior project mentor, Micha Lemen, but also the Senior Project Coordinator Wendell Hausdorff in our first meeting Thursday of last week. This is perfect it allows me peace of mind that the review is well formatted as I’m writing it.
On a different note, the more exiting news. I supposed to start my internship at the Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens on Monday. Due to over-weekend flu attack however, I was unable to start until today. I currently writing this blog post during my lunch break. I am loving it. The gardening work is very relaxing while at the same time entertaining. We started out the morning moving plants from the greenhouse to where we had set up a tarp. From there, we went to the front of the cafe on the ground where we removed the winter trees from there pot and added the spring themed flowers from the greenhouse. Soon, I will learn about the irrigation methods that are used on the gardens.
Anyways, I got to run since break is ending soon. See you guys next week. Cheers.
