Week #10- Getting ready to wrap things up

Azumi V -

Hi, hope everyone had a great week!

I didn’t have any major advancements this week, and have been mostly focusing on wrapping things up. I worked mostly on updating my syllabus, project proposal, and my PowerPoint presentation. I didn’t realize how many of my goals had changed since I first began writing my proposal and syllabus. Ms. Merrill was right, this was not a straightforward journey. My original syllabus was incredibly optimistic, and although I think I can complete everything I added on there, it was certainly not as simple as I thought it would be. My week was also cut a little short since I was traveling all of yesterday and am now visiting a college, I plan to work on as much as possible this weekend to make up for lost time.
Other than that, I also reached out to some more people. Since my next story covers a bit more of a sensitive topic, I wanted to make sure everyone involved was comfortable with being named, or if they would rather stay anonymous. From there, one of the professors I contacted also sent me more resources. Hopefully, I can get that story written by this weekend. Finally, I’ve been reaching out to people about solutions to this issue. I’ve gotten one response from an El Rio nurse and one from a student at the University of Arizona who did a project on this topic. Since they can’t really meet in person, I’ll be sending them interview questions soon.

Have a good weekend!
