Review of Week 2
Good afternoon, everyone. I hope you are doing well. Last week was exciting, and I am very pleased to share my progress with you!
Firstly, I am pleased to report that I am getting closer to conducting my structured interviews which will push me one step closer to conducting my critical policy analysis.
Secondly, I had the opportunity to speak to a librarian at the Law Library at the University of Arizona. He gave me pointers on who I should go to improve my paper methodologically speaking. More progress on that front coming this week.
Lastly, I began my internship at the Pima County Attorney’s Office. While not the on-site internship for my senior research project, interning at the PCAO provides an excellent opportunity to see public policy in action. As the largest law firm in southern Arizona and directly shadowing Chief Civil Deputy Sam Brown, I have the chance to learn more about the community I hope to serve through this project. Just one example of this is that I get to see how state and local governments have sought to hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for their role in the opioid crisis.
This week I hope to get some of my interviews confirmed, to meet directly with Dr. Braithwaite (my On-Site mentor) and Dr. Kearl (my faculty advisor), and to refine my paper.
Thanks for all of the support!
