WEEK 10: Wrapping Things Up

Payton B -

This week was my last week at Embry Riddle. While it was my last week, it didn’t feel any different from the previous weeks.

On Tuesday, I kept working on putting the star data into period04 and then using the Fourier transform for the rest of the code just like last week. There is one part of the code however that takes up to two hours to run so I spent this time beginning work on my final project. I worked on brainstorming ideas and how I would go about them.

On Wednesday, just like on Tuesday, I kept working on putting the star data into period04 and then using the Fourier transform for the rest of the code. This time, I spent my time preparing my outline for my final presentation. I read through the research paper that my mentor was writing in order to get a better understanding of what they were working on before I started helping then I started figuring out what kind of information would go on which slides and trying to find some good pictures to put on my slides.

On Thursday, just like the rest of the week,  I kept working on putting the star data into period04 and then using the Fourier transform for the rest of the code. I continued working on my final presentation outline and now have it completely outlined. I also finished reading through the research paper which gave me some good ideas for my final project. While I did spend the week brainstorming ideas for my final project, I still am undecided about which of the three ideas I will follow through with. It will either be some sort of 3D model, some sort of digital animation, or a trifold that illustrates what we are studying and what I contributed. You can come see what I end up deciding at my final presentation on May 9th. Thank you for reading!
