Week #8 — The Testing

Sachin C -

Hello!

This week, I continued to test the hardware that has slowly been coming in the mail. I am using a USB-C voltage meter as my device to measure power consumption, as all of the controllers use a USB-C based connection to their power rails. This has a passthrough to allow the power cable to still connect directly to the controller, eliminating any chance of error or power leakage.

As this project comes to a conclusion, I have also begun shifting my focus back onto my paper, where I revised the introduction and literature review sections to more accurately reflect the focus this project naturally took on during its development. The new introduction provides a more holistic background to the project, and the literature review was updated to include more information that should be known prior to the method section.

I also completed the first draft of the method section, where I detailed the code required to setup the model and port it to the various pieces of hardware. In this following week, I intend on cleaning up the data that I received from the experimentation, retesting hardware if necessary, and continuing to write my paper.

Thank you for checking back in, and I will see you next week!

It is so exciting to see all of your hard work come together as you wrap up this project, Sachin! You mentioned that you "detailed the code required to set up the model" in the method section. Does this mean that you included the actual lines of code in the paper or that you gave a more general explanation of its function for the readers to more easily comprehend your work? Keep it up!

Hi Sachin, great to see your progress. What changes in your project led you to adjust your introduction and literary review?
