Week 10- The Pamphlet
Anagha N -
Hi everyone!
Welcome back to my blog. These past few weeks have taught me a lot about how to design my final product and how to improve pet owner literacy. Despite not knowing how to code, I found a way to conduct the content analysis manually through a rubric which allowed me to analyze many sources in depth. Through the process of reading sources, I learned how to create better explanations for my pamphlet.
Beyond the content analysis, the survey allowed to me have insightful conversations with the clients at the clinic. I got to hear clients talk as they filled out their surveys. For example, when clients filled out the section on vaccination titers, I heard many of them say that they had never read or heard about titers online. The few clients who said they knew what titers were attributed it to the vet educating them on it. This aligns with the findings in the content analysis as many sources did not discuss vaccination titers.
With all the knowledge I have gained from the past few weeks I have begun creating my pamphlet. I have added explanations, drawings, and some tables. While the drawings and tables are easy to make, the explanations have been a little difficult. I am trying to make sure I don’t exceed the recommended reading level by defining terms and simplifying concepts. The problem is I am also trying to keep the explanations concise. I will continue to play around with the language and find a middle ground, but until then here is what I have so far.
