Hello everyone!
This week I continued to work on my final product. With my site advisor, I was able to dive deeper into the syllabus structure of student pilot training, and gain exposure into how the coarse is laid out from start to end. I researched different areas to add to the syllabus, ranging from more depth to current detail to possibly adding more detail. After researching, I was able to work on both at the same time. Building off of the current syllabus, I aim to introduce a system that benefits the student in understanding specifically what material needs to be understood.
I started with the first lesson and worked my way through the current content, analyzing how it could be improved. I started by seeing how I could introduce a material called the Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge and its various chapters to the lesson plan. Through analyzing the different chapters within the Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge I began to match each lesson with its respective chapter of the book. This allows the student to view a free-access material online that directly aids in their studying process. By providing this material to student pilots, they will have an easier time not only studying but retaining information needed for aviation.
