Final Remarks

Welcome back everyone for one last blog post! Thank you all so much for following along with this journey!
After 11 months, we developed over 1,000 lines of code, analyzing four main trajectory paths and multiple sub-options for some of the maneuvers. This was an incredible experience, and one I have taken a lot out of. In the beginning, it took many months to develop the code for the first maneuver– the Orbit Raising Maneuvers. Once Trimester 3 began, I was able to create the algorithms and implement them into MATLAB unattended by my advisors, owing to their excellent mentoring skills.
I would like to thank Akash Joseph for all of the time put into guiding me in this process and for everything you have taught me. From your capstone course, Aerospace Engineering Sciences to teaching me coding techniques after school, I have gained a solid foundation in coding, orbital mechanics, and research that I will take with me as an undergraduate student. Akash is one of the most dedicated mentors there is, and I am so grateful I have been able to work with him on this project.
Additionally, I’d like to thank Joskua Xatini Carrillo Cuevas for spending your free time advising this project. You kept me on track, helping me to focus on our project’s goal and not stray too far into a topic that we did not have enough time to explore. Her experience in the industry helped guide our project in the right direction.
Finally, thank you to Ms. Bennett and Mr. Kittredge at BASIS Phoenix for providing the opportunity and platform to be able to achieve this ambitious project!
