Eighth Week: Survey Analysis Pt. 2
Hello everyone! This week, I started to analyze the trends found in the survey data by going through the graphs I made last week. I will go over some of the trends and conclusions I have drawn in this post. The first trend I found was that although a majority of the students responded that they would be open to using AI tools in the future to brainstorm, less than half of them have actually used an AI tool to brainstorm since the start of the school year. Another trend I found was that students believed that it is ethical to use AI chatbots for some parts of the writing process but it is unethical to use chatbots for the whole process. For example, students thought that using chatbots to brainstorm is ethical while other parts of the writing process such as creating an outline and writing a whole draft is unethical. A conclusion I have drawn from the survey data is that most students think that using AI tools to help them with assignments and work is ethical, however they believe that having AI tools do all their work for them is unethical.
