Conclusion
Hello everyone! This was the final week of the project. I’ve finished the report and I’m excited to be presenting on May 8th.
This project has been a long journey, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support from my teachers and mentors. I want to first thank Ms. Bennett for coordinating the Senior Projects. She has put in a ton of effort to make sure the whole program is possible, and she has taken the time to meet with me and other students to make sure everything is going well.
Second, I want to acknowledge my mentors, Mr. Joseph, Trupti Mahendrakar, and Dr. Lestari. Mr. Joseph, my faculty advisor, helped me turn my idea about graphene into this project. From there, he has helped me with connections, writing, and preparing my final product and presentation. Trupti, my external advisor, has helped me a ton with writing the initial proposals and the final report. On top of that, she helped me with data analysis and taught me so much about the process of doing proper testing. My on-site mentor Dr. Lestari showed me around ERAU and how to do the composite layup. We also did a lot of brainstorming together on how to work with the graphene.
Finally, I am grateful to the ERAU College of Engineering for allowing me to use their materials, machine shop, and materials testing lab. Specifically, I would like to thank Patrick David for teaching me how to use the machine shop equipment. Without any of this I would not have been able to do this hands-on project.
I’ve learned so much over the past few months, and, although I didn’t end up getting the results I was expecting, I still got lots of interesting data and an idea for more research in the future. Thank you to everyone that has been reading through this blog. I hope you found this project interesting and that you learned something along the way, because I certainly have.
