Conclusion
Hi everyone,
This will be my very last blog post. This post will review everything I have done over the past few months and how much I have learned. So, when I first started this project, it wasn’t exactly what I had expected. At first, the goal was to set up our clinical trial within the Phoenix area. Those expectations changed later in the project when I realized the timeline for starting a clinical trial would take much longer than what I had available, and my on-site mentor realized this same thing. We diverted our efforts towards highlighting the significant issues with spine disease clinical trials and clinical trials in general, such as the underrepresentation of minority groups like women and minority races/ethnicities. Throughout this project, I have learned about so many different clinical trials and realized that other than just research, there are so many categories necessary to fulfill a successful clinical trial. I have to thank my on-site advisor for teaching me so much about clinical trials and research in general and Mr.Crane for getting me everything I needed to continue pushing through this project even after it got complicated. I have learned how to use Excel more effectively, and I have even learned some coding during the course of this project. I have had some late nights and all-nighters during this project, but this is a topic I am very passionate about, and it has really given me the experience I need to feel prepared to do research in the future as well.
