Conclusion
Marcos V -
This will be the final blog post for my senior research project. Thank you for all the support and all the questions along the way!
While my results were technically inconclusive, I found the experience of the research project as a whole to be incredibly enriching and educational. As I discussed in my project presentation, I encountered several setbacks along the way, primarily in the form of limitations on the data that I needed for my analysis. Several times, I was not able to find data with the correct polarization required to perform the mathematical analyses that I had planned to calculate the strength and orientation of the magnetic fields. I pivoted multiple times, adjusting my research question along the way, and finally settled on running a simulation of the system, but given the limited time I had left, I was not able to finish debugging the program before I had to present my results.
More than anything, I am taking away from this experience the value of tenacity and perseverance. Despite the bumpy road, I learned to roll with the punches, so to speak, and to be flexible with my methods and my research question. I am certain that this insight will be quite valuable when I continue to pursue research in my college years and beyond.
It has been a pleasure working on this project, chaotic as it may have been at times, and I am eager to see where I can take this project in the future. Thank you once again for reading!
