Week 8- Creating a Resource
Anagha N -
Hi everyone!
Welcome back. Now that I finished the content analysis and survey collection, I can show some of my progress. Once I finished the content analysis, I created a table with the final results from each source to better analyze trends. Here is the table I made.

The results revealed that the reading level for every source I looked at was too high. Most of them were at the 10th grade reading level or above which is higher than the recommended 8th grade reading level for the American public. Another thing was the lack of visual aids that explained concepts. There were usually pictures of cats and dogs but no photos that were relevant to the concept being explained. Lastly, the explanation of some concepts was lacking. For example, while explaining vaccines and the pros of using it some sources didn’t mention any cons or potential side effects.
Beyond my findings from the data collection part of my project, I have now figured out what sections of content I want to include in my pamphlet. I chose to include sections that other sources had and an additional section where I dispel common myths. After doing research, I found that there is a lot of misinformation about the side effects of vaccines and their severity. In this section, I plan to discuss the validity of those myths.
I still need to put the content in so I left some text as a placeholder, but this is how I plan to format everything.
That is all the updates I have for this week.
See you next time.
