Hello everyone,

As I reflect on the culmination of my senior project journey, I am filled with a gratitude for the experiences and knowledge gained during this transformative period. Delving into the realm of Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and their investments in Africa, under the guidance of Ernst & Young, has been an enlightening exploration into the complexities of international business and economic development.

I have had the privilege of collaborating with a diverse array of professionals, each offering unique insights and perspectives that have enriched my understanding of the subject matter. Ernst & Young, in particular, has played a pivotal role as my on-site advisor, providing invaluable guidance and expertise that have propelled my research forward.

From analyzing investment trends to evaluating the socio-economic impact of DFI interventions, this project has given me the opportunity to delve deep into the intricacies of African economies and their interactions with global financial systems. Moreover, the interdisciplinary nature of this endeavor has allowed me to integrate principles from finance, economics, and international relations, fostering a holistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities inherent in DFI investments.

As I prepare to conclude this chapter of my academic journey, I am filled with a sense of optimism and purpose. The insights gleaned from this project will undoubtedly inform my future endeavors, whether in the realms of academia, policy, or industry. I am confident that the skills and perspectives acquired throughout this experience will serve as a solid foundation for making meaningful contributions to the field of international development and beyond.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported me along this journey, including my mentors, peers, and advisors. Your guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in shaping this endeavor into a rewarding and enriching experience.

Warm regards,

Akhil Durvasula
