Working Around Different Cultures
Jacob p -
Good evening, unicellular undertakers! This week I managed to make up for last week’s lulls by working extra hard on bacteria artwork. I did have a minor hiccup because I was on a couple flights (where I had to be more sedentary than a Staphylococcus aureus in a biofilm) yesterday from Phoenix to Madrid. Nevertheless, here I am in Madrid trying to get by with different cultures (hopefully I won’t have any problems with any bacterial cultures here).
This last week I had 4 days at my site placement, instead of the usual 3, so I got to learn a lot more about games I had never played before. This may come as a massive surprise, but I have never actually played or collected Pokémon before. Through my site placement I got to learn more about how it works and major reasons for its growing popularity. I learned that Pokémon cards are becoming more of collectors items like sports cards rather than a card game for playing.
For my artwork, I finished another bacteria card art and completed the art for the microscope slides which will be a prominent feature of the bacteria cards. I’ve almost completed a third bacteria card art and I am really starting to get used to digital art. What I plan to do is copy the bacteria artwork onto the slide for each card then use that as the image for the card. Below you can see the updated version of the bacteria card design I’ve been working on and my drawing of V. Cholerae and microscope slide.
