Now I am working on my final presentation. The rest of my work with my project will be practicing my presentation and editing my lessons. I will be presenting the lessons to as many people as I can get to have some feedback.

Here is how each presentation generally works:

Handwashing: Introduce what an agar plate is while it is passed around. Ask student if they think it is still clean after they touched it. Ask students how many people they think wash their hands. Show answer. List what illnesses you can catch from not washing hands. <video on what would happen if you did’t wash your hands again (featuring flesh eating bacteria)> When to wash your hands. How to wash your hands. Other handwashing facts. What handwashing can prevent on a larger stage. Takeaway.

Sleep: Explain what a circadian rhythm is and how it works. State that it is a myth that you can learn to live on little sleep with no negative effects with citation. Explain what sleep does. Play: what system is affected by this effect of lack of sleep (long term vs short term). List off reasons people have trouble falling asleep. Give solutions to them. Have students guess how much sleep you actually need, then reveal answer.

Healthy Eating: Why should you take care of your body. Introduce food plate visuals. Section on fruits and vegetables. Section on vegetable variety. Section on whole grains. Section on protein. Water is important sides. How to tell if you are dehydrated as well as a warning not to drink all 8 cups in one sitting. Detail steps to change our diet using the SMART rubric from https://food-guide.canada.ca/en/tips-for-healthy-eating/improving-eating-habits/. Section on food dye: explain why they are possibly hazardous, play the guess what has food dye in it? game. The less ingredients the better. How to access healthy recipes. Big takeaways slide.

Hi Riley! I'm so happy to hear that you have finished all of your lessons. I have a question about your final presentation. Will it be formatted as a recap of the research process you've been through, or will it be more like mini versions of all the lessons you have created?

Hi Riley! It's really cool to be able to see all of the work you have done in one place like this. Who do you plan on presenting for to get feedback?

Hi Liam! I plan to present to my mother (as she is a teacher), my internal advisor, and my external advisor. I also will present to anyone else I can get.

Hi Riley! It’s awesome to hear that you’ve completed all of your lesson plans. The flesh eating bacteria sounds like a great incentive for people to wash their hands! For the guessing game for food dye, how do you think you’ll have it implemented? Do you want students to have white boards or raise their hands, or do you think you’ll leave it up to the teacher to decide how it’s implemented? Thank you , and good luck on your final presentation!

Hi! The whiteboard is a good idea, but yes, I'll leave it up to the teacher to decide how they want this to be done. Thank you for wishing me luck!
