Conclusion
Welcome to the conclusion of my blog posts! I really loved getting to do this project. I’ve never made anything film related before despite my love for it so this was such a cool opportunity. I love horror and am so glad I got to share all the reasons I love the genre with other people. I got to learn a new program and despite all of the computer crashes and tedious editing, I really loved it and look forward to doing more in the future. I also learned how to conduct interviews and had a lot of fun researching different aspects of the genre for my documentary. The final cut of the documentary ended up being about 36 minutes plus a very brief credit scene.
Overall I learned a lot and had so much fun trying to figure out how to accomplish the final product.
Thank you so much to my internal advisor Mr. Kies who was a huge help in starting the project and planning it out so that everything stayed on schedule. His initial help in scripting and picking out the most important research was really helpful.
Thank you also to my external advisor, Ember, who helped me with the new program and interviews. I really didn’t know how to start with a lot of the major aspects of creating a documentary and having help from someone with experience was so important and necessary for this project to come together.
Thank you also to Ms. Cohen who was so extremely supportive of my creative project from the beginning, even when I wasn’t sure what I was going to do.
Thank you also to my friends and family who helped me so much by watching my documentary and reading the script before finalizing things. Thank you to my friend Sam who helped me set up and take down all of my interviews and listened to me regularly rant about horror.
Thank you to everyone who followed along with this blog. My presentation will be on May 7th at 5:50 in the BASIS Flagstaff gym. I hope to see you there and I look forward to seeing my fellow students presentations!
