Week 9: New Final Product Design and Presentation Planning
Welcome back, everyone!
I cannot believe there is already only a few weeks left of the project! It seemed only not that long ago I first started working on it.
As the project nears the end, I have begun to review my notes and previous research to create some ideas for what I want to include in my Final Presentation. I am currently trying to maintain recurring themes in my research, such as the role of glutamate and brain networks in OCD, while not providing an extreme amount of information. It is a delicate balance between showing how much I discovered about OCD and its treatments and simplifying the information. So far, I have been compiling and organizing all the information into different categories based on each treatment, general information, the research process itself, and other general themes. Once I complete my initial review of my research, I may still need to simplify and condense the information further.
Additionally, I started working on a third concept design for my Final Product. This new design will likely be my final one, so I am excited to begin constructing it soon! It follows the same concept as my first two sketches where I include different treatments and aspects of OCD to write out the letters of the acronym “OCD.” However, I added two additional letters: T and X. “TX” is an abbreviation commonly used to refer to the word treatment in medicine, and I decided it would be fitting as my project is centered around different OCD treatments and it would provide more space to include more of what I researched. This design is a combination of the previous ones as it indicates the current understanding of OCD, its treatments, and its barriers to treatment. I am also trying to create an accurate representation of psychotherapy in the new design due to it being something I struggled with while creating the initial ones.
I will include images of my Final Product once I start building it. Until then, it will remain a surprise!
See you all next week!
