Week 12: The End of the Stream
Arwen H -
Hi guys and welcome back one last time to my blog! I have had such an incredible time these past few weeks diving deep into the details of water conservation policies. Not only have I learned to question the effectiveness of any government program before assuming it’s going to be effective just because it is throwing money at a problem, but I have also gained many valuable research skills that I can take with me as I do more research in the future. For instance, I have learned how important it is to adapt and not be afraid to change course when your method isn’t working out as you had hoped. When I changed from a survey to a document analysis, I was hesitant as I didn’t want to start afresh and have all of my hard work I had done so far go to waste. However, because I made the difficult decision to change methods, my final product was more comprehensive and thought out as a result and I even used some of the lessons I had taken away from doing the survey in my project’s conclusions.
So now that my project is coming to a close, I would like to take this time to thank all the people who have helped me and guided me through this process. So thank you to Ms. Mac and Ms. Lee for answering any questions that came up, to Dr. Winter for coaching me through the AP Seminar and Research process from start to finish, to Professor Kathryn Sorensen for her support and for giving me an additional set of eyes throughout my project, to all of my classmates who have been reading my blogs and working with me through these past few weeks, and finally, to all of you who have been reading my blogs each week and giving me such amazing questions and comments!
I would also like to invite each and everyone of you to Senior Project Presentation day on Saturday May 3rd to see my final presentation. I will be presenting from 11:45 – 12:15 in Room 12 but it is preferred that visitors come for the full presentation block in that room which lasts from 10:45 – 12:15 and in that time you will also see two other incredible presentations from my classmates!
So thank you so much once again for all of your guys’ support and I hope to see you at presentation day!
