Week 3! Polishing my intial model!

Vignesh I -

Hey guys! Thanks for checking in again!

This is week 4 of the project and time has been flying by fast!

This past week has been disappointing regarding breakthroughs with increasing my AI model’s accuracy and overall improvement.  Focusing on Data and Model architecture issues this week has not brought much reward. These “tune-ups” have actually ended up making the model overall less efficient.

Taking my brother’s advice (who has extensive experience in making AI), towards the end of this week, I have been focusing more on trying to repurpose open-source code rather than trying to create the code from scratch. Surprisingly, trying to repurpose already existing code has proven to be more challenging than creating it from scratch with my given experience.

Even though I am having great difficulty in repurposing code, I still plan on continuing to try to do so because I haven’t really seen the full capabilities of what repurposing existing code can do for increasing my Model’s efficiency overall.

Moreover, I haven’t been doing a great job of finding various open code resources to repurpose. It is hard to bring your idea to fruition when you’re only allowing yourself 3 or 4 codes of repurposing. Moving forward, I will try to branch out much more.

What I also want to focus on next week is the side of research rather than just continuing to create my model. There is only so much I can do with the knowledge I currently have. To bring this project to the polished version I hope for it to become, I have to hone both my skills and experience in the upcoming weeks.

Thanks again for checking in!

See you next week!

Hello Vignesh! This sounds like an excellent project and you're doing a great job! What data is the model trained on exactly? Is it video of people driving or something along those lines? Additionally, do you have an idea for the physical model that will block the sun?

Hi Vignesh! I, being short, am constantly blinded by the sun in the car (especially in Arizona), and the sun visors rarely cover my eyes. Do you have a personal experience with your sun visor that led you to think of this project? How did the idea originate? I'm excited to see what you will do with this project in the future.

Hi Tosha! Thanks for your question. I understand the confusion since my project info hasn't updated yet, but now I'm working on making an AI music assistant for practicing your instrument rather than on a AI automated sun visor because my site placement dropped out and I couldn't ensure I would get access to the hardware needed to complete it.
